Piastri started the Azerbaijan GP in second place after falling short against Leclerc in qualifying. However, he was able to make up for it during the 51-lap race and once he got ahead of the Monegasque, he defended extremely well to secure the victory.

Oscar Piastri deems Baku triumph as ‘best win’ of racing career

While several people have come forward to sing the praises of Oscar Piastri following Baku, the Australian himself has also come up with a few words. Piastri, who is currently in his second year at the pinnacle of motorsport, views the Azerbaijan GP triumph as the best victory of his whole racing career.

P1! I’m so happy to have won my second Grand Prix. This is the best win of my career. I’m proud of what we did today. I tried at the start of the race to get in front, but once I dropped out of DRS, I just didn't have the pace.

With Baku done and dusted, there are still seven races remaining in the 2024 season. The F1 extravaganza will now move to Singapore, which also happens to host a street race. Keeping this in view, Piastri will once again have his eyes set on the big prize.

However, Lando Norris‘ driver’s championship situation might force Piastri to play second fiddle. McLaren could step in during the race to ask the latter to help Norris in his tussle against the reigning champion Max Verstappen.
