Carlos Sainz has been making his trade at the pinnacle of motor racing for a long time. He is one of the most exceptional talents on the modern grid and while the sport is currently at a short halt, he has taken the time to refer to the F1 drivers as absolute ‘gladiators.’

F1 has been around since the 1950s and over the decades, has led to several drivers losing their lives. One of the prominent names among such instances is the legend Ayrton Senna. The Brazilian driver lost his life at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix after a fatal crash.

In recognition of the risk the drivers take every time they get out on track, Carlos Sainz has applauded all the F1 drivers.

F1 drivers, we’re brave, but as brave as a chariot racer. I’m not sure. Those people were made of something else. Some people call F1 drivers and MotoGP riders the Gladiators of nowadays, as usually, we put our lives on the line for racing. But then, they were properly risking things. Thank God in our sport we have a lot of safety now.

With the Grand Prix just a few days away, Leclerc has asserted that he is determined to come out on top this year.

I’m really looking forward to Vegas – it’s always such a special experience. I love the energy. The whole weekend is crazy as it’s a city where a lot is going on. Last year, we were very close to winning it, so I’m hoping this year we can make it.

The 2024 Las Vegas event is extremely crucial for Leclerc and the Ferraro F1 team. The outfit is in second position in the constructors championship and is in with a shot to topple McLaren from the top slot by the end of the season.

As things stand, Ferrari has put on board 557 points in comparison to McLaren’s 593. Keeping this in view, Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be required to bring out all their skills while racing on the track in the remaining races of the campaign.
