The new predictions are in, and they claim that Mercedes has reportedly made a two-year offer to Carlos Sainz. The smooth operator will run out of his contract with Ferrari at the end of this season and will have to find a new home ahead of next year. Ferrari chose to replace Sainz starting next season with Lewis Hamilton.
A heartbreaking start to the season for Carlos Sainz, however, this has opened up opportunities for the smooth operator. He is currently the hottest driver in the 2024 drivers market.
It is no surprise that Sainz has managed to catch the eye of many team principals due to his phenomenal performance from the start of the 2024 season. The Spaniard has claimed a podium in every race he has participated in and has comfortably outshined his teammate, Charles Leclerc. Audi had made their interest clear in him since the start itself.

With Mercedes reportedly offering a two-year contract extension to Sainz, as per Corriere Dello Sport, the race is well and truly on among the various teams to sign the 29-year-old.
Ex-F1 driver calls Carlos Sainz a ‘man on the mission’
Ex-F1 driver, Mark Webber, has raised a critical question, as to whether Ferrari is regretting their 2025 decision or not. As mentioned earlier, Ferrari has signed Lewis Hamilton from next year onward, which has left Sainz empty-handed.
However, the way Sainz has been performing this season, Webber feels that Ferrari is having second thoughts.
Look if you can’t get motivated because you don’t have a contract in your top pocket, you’re in strife. I think he’s a man on a mission now, he’s got the bit between his teeth, and obviously he’s driving brilliantly. Ferrari, you know, are they regretting their move?Mark Webber via: PlanetF1
Ferrari’s star driver Charles Leclerc has been blown away by the smooth operator. On top of everything, Sainz still remains the only non-Red Bull driver to claim a victory since last season’s Singapore GP. Moreover, two weeks after going through an appendectomy, Sainz claimed a win in Australia proving his worth.
