Charles Leclerc breaks silence on ‘last-minute’ change which helped secure a SENSATIONAL pole position for Miami GP

Charles Leclerc has been the talk of the town since the start of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. The hometown hero has high expectations riding on him and the Monegasque, really delivered with his yesterday’s stellar pole position.
The Monaco qualifying session was an intense affair with the lights of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris all vying for the pole position. However, Leclerc made a specific change on his SF-24 during Q3 which helped him secure first place for today’s 78-lap race!

There was the engine change that we had to change very last minute. And there was doubts on whether the mechanics could make it or not, but they did an incredible job.Charles Leclerc said in an interview with Racingnews365
The 26-year-old has made it quite clear that the last-minute change on his SF-24 played a huge role in his pole position lap. Leclerc’s teammate, Carlos Sainz was also on it during the quali session as he managed a third-place finish behind McLaren’s Piastri.

While Leclerc has made it known that the last-minute change was the key behind his pole position, he also feels that nothing was left on the table in terms of performance. The five-time race winner put his SF-24 through the absolute wringer during his final Q3 lap.

This was one of the main reasons why Leclerc secured pole by a couple of tenths over Piastri!
So, all of these [things] together, wasn't an easy run into qualifying but we managed to extract the maximum anyway, and that was very important.Charles Leclerc said in the same interview
The 2024 Monaco Grand Prix is just a few hours away and with Charles Leclerc starting in pole position, he has a great chance of securing the Grand Prix win. It will be vitally important for Leclerc to keep hold of first place going into the Turn 1 on the first lap of the 78-lap race.
