Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc secured the seventh win of his career at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix last week. Leclerc dabbled in a daring one-stop strategy to successfully claim the win despite starting the race in fourth place.

Charles Leclerc has been on a mixed run of form this season. The Maranello-based team started the campaign on a strong note but faltered later, jeopardizing their grip in the title race. Leclerc’s win at Monza helped the team take a sigh of relief as they amassed the most points of all in the race.

The Monegasque driver has, however, talked down higher expectations from Ferrari after the recent win. Leclerc believes that the Maranello-based team needs to prepare better to outpace their rivals in the upcoming races.

We shouldn't rely on the race we have just done. And as a team, it's really important for us that once we come back at the factory, we reset from everything that has happened during the weekend. We learn from it and we try to analyse everything, but we should leave emotions aside and reset as a team and go again in Baku, not having crazy high expectations because that's not where the team is at the moment.

Ferrari currently stands third in the constructors’ championship behind the likes of Red Bull and McLaren. While their recent upgrades have greatly added to the SF-24’s pace, more work needs to be done in order to further cement their chances.

Fred Vasseur highlights key reason behind Charles Leclerc’s stellar Monza performance

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has praised his team following Charles Leclerc’s win at the Italian Grand Prix. The Italian outfit brought a new set of upgrades to Monza, which worked wonders for them around their home circuit.

For sure, you can say that the upgrade is crucial. But in the end, the pace [in the race] was more linked to the tyre management. It’s in quali where you have six or eight cars [between] one or two-tenths that every single upgrade will pay a lot.
Fred Vasseur told the media including RacingNews365

Fred Vasseur has deemed upgrades to be the difference-maker in qualifying sessions before a race. Vasseur has furthermore accredited Leclerc’s brilliance in tire management to be the prime reason for the win at Monza.

Ferrari’s triumph around the Temple of Speed has allowed them to reach 407 points in the constructors’ championship. The upcoming races at Baku and Marina Bay are key destinations for the Maranello-based outfit, who will try to replicate their past brilliance this year as well.
