Lewis Hamilton‘s shocking switch to Ferrari from 2025 onward caught everyone off-guard. Multiple individuals believed that Hamilton’s long-time race engineer Bono (Peter Bonnington) would join him at Ferrari. However, Bono was promoted within Mercedes as the chances of him moving were declined. Subsequently, Max Verstappen‘s race engineer was rumored to join Maranello.

Gianpiero Lambiase and Max Verstappen have worked closely with each other at Red Bull since 2016. As a result, Lambiase was highly unlikely to ditch his partner for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. Regardless, according to the Sports Courier, Fred Vasseur presented the Italian-British engineer with an offer to join Maranello.

However, Lambiase refused the offer to partner up with Hamilton despite Red Bull’s slump in recent times. Hence, the 43-year-old will continue to work alongside Verstappen and attempt to manage a comeback in terms of performance. On the other hand, Hamilton is highly likely to work with Ricciardo Adami as his race engineer in 2025.
