Ferrari is one of the most historic teams in Formula 1, joining the paddock since the sport’s inception in 1950. Emotions run high within the Tifosi as they treat the team as their family and wish nothing but success to the Ferrari drivers. However, regardless of the high emotions, Charles Leclerc declared that the team was ‘less emotionally affected’ by problems amidst Lewis Hamilton‘s arrival.

Lewis Hamilton is all set to join Ferrari in the 2025 season and potentially contend for the championship with the team. Hence, ahead of the Briton’s first race, Charles Leclerc claimed that the constructor worked much better as a team. Moreover, Ferrari had an ‘incredible’ environment due to the high passion behind the brand. A majority of the crew members are willing to work extra hours just to find the maximum amount of improvement in performance.

The mentality within the team and the way we work is so much better, and that we are a much more solid team. And I’ve always said that Ferrari is incredible, because there’s so much passion within the team, and that’s great because everybody is willing to work the extra hour and is really motivated to change things for better.

The crew members were still hugely affected by the team’s negative performance over the race weekends in Formula 1. However, amidst a massive championship drought followed by some years of little to no wins, Leclerc believed that the team was used to it. The Monegasque claimed that the constructor was affected very less emotionally which was ironically a ‘positive’ factor.

However, when things are going bad, people working in Ferrari are more affected because they have an emotional attachment to the brand, which you maybe have less in other teams. I feel like we’ve taken this step. Yes, there’s still the passion, but we are a lot less emotionally affected by whatever is going on around the team, which I think is very positive.

Formula 1 is a relative sport, and we can only know what we do ourselves. I have very good confidence that we are doing everything right at the moment, and as a team, we are a lot more solid. But again, everything is relative – and we don’t know if Red Bull or McLaren have found something very special for this year’s car.

Charles Leclerc noted

The 2025 season would be extremely exciting for the Tifosi as Hamilton is expected to bring greater things to the constructor. Leclerc would form a highly formidable pair with the seven-time champion and aim to maximize points over the race weekends. Hence, time will tell about how the two fare against the rivals in the coming season.
