Charles Leclerc claims he’ll always go ‘flat out’ for victory no matter who he’s ‘fighting’

Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen have been racing together since their karting days. Both the drivers have shared a long on-track rivalry for years. Currently Verstappen is ahead of Leclerc in terms of drivers standing by almost 100 points which put Leclerc in third position behind Lando Norris.
During an interview Charles Leclerc admitted he will race fiercely with every driver including Max Verstappen. However, He noted that this strategy of his might vary depending on the situation. He gave an example, if he’s battling for sixth place in the championship while Verstappen leads by 100 points, Leclerc wouldn’t contest the Dutchman as fiercely. Because this will not make any sense of taking unnecessary risks against a driver who is so far in the lead.
I’ll always try and fight them in the same way. It mostly depends on the situation you are in, and of course if you are fighting for a P6 in the championship, and Max is 100 points ahead, you might not fight him as hard.Charles Leclerc said, as reported by RacingNews365
Further, Leclerc explained that whenever a win is within his reach, he will always give it his all regardless of who he is racing against. He highlighted that when the opportunity for first place arises, he will be prepared to push his limits and race as hard as possible. Charles Leclerc believed in going flat out in those moments, showcasing his determination and competitive spirit for his career.

Charles Leclerc claims he knows Max Verstappen’s driving style better than any other driver
Charles Leclerc mentioned that over the time in F1 he has come to know the other driver’s better and better. He pointed out that Max Verstappen is the driver who he knows the best on the grid, because they have been racing against each other since childhood. Their rivalry has been dated from around 2010 which was their karting days. This long history has allowed Leclerc and Verstappen to understand each other’s driving styles, strengths, and weaknesses.

Monàgasque further stated that after racing against various drivers for a while, he has a good understanding of how each one is likely to react in different situations. He knows how they might defend their position or attempt to overtake him during a race. However, Leclerc highlighted that he will not change his racing style depending on the driver he is competing against. Instead, he would approach each battle with the same mindset and strategy, focusing on his own driving.
