‘Pissed’ Charles Leclerc has an OUTBURST on team radio after disappointing Italian GP Qualifying

Ferrari is the most prestigious manufacturer in the history of F1. The Italian GP at Monza is reckoned as the biggest race for the Scuderia, and every Ferrari driver wants to win in front of the Tifosi. Though Charles Leclerc achieved this feat in 2019, he is witnessing the team’s downturn in form as he qualified in P4 for the 53-lap race, resulting in him raging over the radio after the qualifying session
The color Red floods the grandstands at Monza during a Grand Prix weekend. Fans pool over from around the world to witness Ferrari take the win on its home soil. Despite this, the team has only won four races in the previous two decades. On the other hand, the Scuderia brought a special package to Monza in a bid for pole, however, their attempt remained unsuccessful as McLaren locked out the front row.
Subsequently, when Charles Leclerc‘s race engineer repeated the qualifying order, the Monegasque had an outburst over the radio lamenting the characteristics of the SF-24.

The 26-year-old claimed that he was pissed with how the SF-24 was behaving. He further stated that the car was not obedient in the slow-speed corners while his teammate complained about understeer in the medium-speed corners in qualifying.
Charles Leclerc reveals his hopes for the Italian GP
Despite Leclerc attaining the upper hand in the intra-team rivalry by out-qualifying Carlos Sainz, he only managed to stay ahead of his teammate by six thousandths of a second. Moreover, George Russell pounced past him in the final stages, which resulted in Leclerc dropping to P4.
On the other hand, observing the pace of the SF-24, experts reckoned that a podium might be on the cards for the scarlet duo. However, the Monegasque claimed a podium would not mean as much as a win at Monza.
It wouldn’t feel like a win. It would feel good. But I really hope we can get the win and that will be our target going into tomorrow.Charles Leclerc said in a post-qualifying interview
The six-time race-winner hoped to get a win in front of the Tifosi. Though he admitted that a race win is too much to ask for, he asserted that he wants to win the Italian GP and it would be his target tomorrow to take the chequered flag first on the track.
Apart from this, Ferrari has a great chance to make strides on Red Bull in the constructor’s standings. The Red Bull pair has qualified P7 and P8 which could help the Italian team in catapulting themselves toward the higher positions in the standings.
