Charles Leclerc the six-time Grand Prix winner, is one of the most prolific racers on the modern F1 grid. Leclerc is rated highly by Ferrari as well and this was one of the main reasons why he was offered a new multi-year deal ahead of the 2024 season.

Charles Leclerc is going to be with Ferrari for several years and while the ongoing campaign has gone a bit off-track, he still feels he made the right decision. The Monegasque genuinely believes he can win a world championship with the Maranello-based team.

Podcast host: With a masterclass in Monaco, Charles Leclerc fulfilled a life-long ambition, but can he still achieve his ultimate dream of becoming world champion with Ferrari?
Leclerc: Yes, for sure, otherwise I wouldn't have signed again, even if you don't have a title chance, to drive for Ferrari is an incredible honor but to get the best out of me, I need to believe in the project, I mean, I have full trust that I'm in the right team to make McLaren and Red Bull struggle in the future.

Ferrari putting in ‘absolutely everything’ to turn 2024 situation around

While Leclerc is expecting to fight for the world championship in the coming years, the ongoing campaign has gone downward for Ferrari since Monaco. Moreover, as things stand, the outfit is currently the fourth fastest on the grid in terms of raw pace.

Mercedes managed to leap-frog them by the closing stages of the first half.

So, yeah, we did not expect to be where we are, but we are here and we are very much aware of the areas where we need to work. We are putting absolutely everything in order to turn the situation around as quickly as possible.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have both scored Grand Prix wins for Ferrari this year. However, the duo’s respective triumphs came during the early stages, and considering this, the whole Ferrari group has a mighty job on its hands in the remaining 10 races. They will be required to bring in major updates for the SF-24 if they are to hold on to their current constructors position (P3), or try and get the jump on McLaren or Red Bull for the top two spots.
