Toto Wolff and Susie Wolff had a rocky start to the 2024 season after the couple was accused of wrongdoings in Formula 1. The FIA investigated the duo while the rest of the team principals and drivers sided with the couple.
However, Wolff dug up the old case and took a jibe at Christian Horner for not siding with Mrs. Wolff. Following the culmination of Toto Wolff‘s conflict of interest saga, the Mercedes boss revealed a shocking detail.
According to him, Horner was the only team principal who had declined to sign a document in support of Susie Wolff. The Red Bull team principal, however, has been ‘surprised’ by the 53-year-old’s comments.
Horner further negated any accusations from Toto regarding the saga early in the year. The Englishman said that he never responded to any elicit claims from McLaren CEO Zak Brown or Toto and stayed out of trouble.
Christian Horner recalls Toto Wolff trying to hit him while he was ‘on the ground’
Christian Horner was the center of multiple major controversies, primarily the sexual assault investigation saga. The Red Bull boss was cleared of any wrongdoings back then as everyone moved on from the issue.
However, Horner recalled that the way that the rivals tried to take advantage of him at the beginning of the season was ‘disappointing’. Moreover, the 50-year-old called out Toto Wolff to hit back at the former while he was ‘on the ground’.
Most have already moved on from the issues that arose at the beginning of the 2024 season. Regardless of the issues, the 2024 season has peaked in excitement and controversies as the season finale draws close.
