Red Bull has faced a significant performance drop and continues to struggle with winning races even after the summer break. The Italian GP further demonstrated that they no longer have the fastest car on the grid, leading to a loss of crucial points to their rivals. McLaren now sits just 8 points behind them in the standings. The Austrian team must address this issue and work to maintain their lead.

Team Principal Christian Horner explained that Red Bull is facing major problems with their car’s balance. Max Verstappen had also earlier mentioned that the balance needs to be improved despite they were winning races that time. Horner also said that when the balance isn’t right, it makes the car harder to handle. This situation forces the team to push the tires harder than they should. To try to fix the balance, they end up making adjustments that can sometimes make things worse.

You can see that we have a lack of balance that is not working, and as soon as you get into that situation, you are more demanding with the tyres, you end up compensating, you shift the balance around.

Further, Horner emphasized that when the team tries to fix one issue with the car, it often leads to a new problem. Therefore, Red Bull has been stuck in a vicious cycle where solving one problem just leads to more problems. This is making it hard to find a lasting solution and continually facing difficulties. Presently, both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are in the same boat which Red Bull needs to fix.

Christian Horner admits Red Bull needs to turn things around after dismal Italian GP

Christian Horner explained that the team needs to make the changes quickly and fix the issues before the next race. The Monza circuit has demonstrated where their car is lacking compared to how it performed last year. The problem with the car became more visible especially at Monza highlighting areas where they are not doing as well.

We need to turn things around very quickly. This circuit – Monza – has exposed the shortcomings we have in the car compared to last year.
Christian Horner stated.

Therefore, Red Bull needs to address the issues urgently to improve their performance. Improving the car’s balance before the next race in Baku is crucial. It will determine whether they maintain their championship lead or lose it to McLaren. Fans hope Red Bull rebounds from the setbacks they’ve been facing and offer Max Verstappen a race-winning car.
