Carlos Sainz has set the 2024 F1 season alight with brilliant on-track performances. After four rounds, he has already amassed a Grand Prix win and ahead of next year, has become the hottest driver in the drivers market.
In recent times, Carlos Sainz has been linked with various teams for the 2025 season. However, amidst the hype around him, the former F1 driver, Damon Hill, has somewhat played down his chances of joining Red Bull.
Hill genuinely feels that the stupendous caliber of Sainz would potentially act as a roadblock in Red Bull going after the Spaniard for next year.
I can’t see how they will allow anyone. Unless he is prepared to be a good No 2. But, then, Checo is doing a very good job there, doing that role.
Damon Hill said in an interview with Sky sports
Sainz has been making his trade with the Maranello-based Ferrari F1 team since 2021. He has so far done a good job for them but because of Lewis Hamilton’s 2025 arrival, he has been forced into finding a team on the grid for next year. At Red Bull, Max Verstappen has been the lead driver for a long time!
Carlos Sainz deserves to be on a ‘top team’
While Damon Hill has raised questions regarding Red Bull’s willingness to bring the prolific Spaniard on board, he has also admitted that the latter deserves to be on a top team. Sainz is still the only non-Red Bull driver to win a race since the 2023 Singapore GP.
The 29-year-old has so far amassed three Grand Prix victories in F1.
He deserves to be in a top team. He’s running at the front.Damon Hill said in the same interview
The 2024 F1 season has still got 20 races remaining on the calendar. Keeping this in view, Carlos Sainz has ample opportunities to keep impressing potential teams regarding a 2025 birth. Several top personalities have showered immense praise on him for his recent exploits and considering this, it will be fascinating to see where he will ultimately end up for next year.
