The seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, has got the world talking about him since his triumph at the British Grand Prix. The Brit was flawless from start to finish and with the sport currently being in a short break, Ex-F1 driver, David Coulthard has come forward to share his thoughts on Hamilton’s Silverstone triumph.
David Coulthard feels the 39-year-old’s solid outing at the British GP is proof enough that the latter has finally got his ‘mojo’ back. Moreover, has admitted, that now that Lewis Hamilton has scored a win, he will no longer have to rediscover himself at Ferrari in 2025.

Hamilton produced a masterclass of a drive during the 52-lap Silverstone race.
The period of drought that he's gone through, and lacking performance to his team-mate, that I cannot compute. That's why it means so much to him, and that is what confirms that he's still got the hunger. That whole Ferrari journey is about trying to rediscover his mojo. Well, he's discovered it here.David Coulthard via Channel 4
Looking at the reaction of the 53-year-old, he has emphasized the tough spell that Hamilton has had in F1 since the end of 2021. Mercedes struggled in 2022 and 2023 to produce a solid car and this didn’t allow the latter to compete at the front. However, now that Hamilton has finally won a race after over two years, Coulthard is very optimistic about the seven-time world champion’s future with Ferrari.
Toto Wolff deems Lewis Hamilton a ‘fantastic racer’
While Coulthard has left no stone unturned in applauding Lewis Hamilton, the latter’s Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff has also not shied away from doing the same. The Austrian was immensely pleased when Hamilton crossed the chequered flag in first place in Silverstone.

Moreover, during the post-race interviews, Wolff showered praise on the Brit from the bottom of his heart.
It is the last British Grand Prix together, and the sign-off is like a fairytale. We leave the British crowds with the most iconic and most successful British driver. He’s a fantastic racer, and when he has a sniff of being able to win a grand prix, that’s when he is so strong.Toto Wolff via Sky Sports F1
The ongoing campaign has 12 races remaining on the calendar. Mercedes has shown massive improvement in terms of performance and considering this, the upcoming races will be an exciting watch. If the upward trend of the Brackley-based outfit continues, then there will be every chance of seeing Lewis Hamilton standing on the top step of the podium a few more times this year.
