Lewis Hamilton has raced with Mercedes for over 12 years in Formula 1. Hence, the Briton’s late-career switch to Ferrari came as a massive shock for the entire crew. Regardless, Brackley is currently planning a mega farewell for the Ferrari-bound Mercedes star. Hence, upon this, Ex-F1 driver David Coulthard pointed out the situation which would be a massive celebratory point for the team.

Mercedes has already planned a major event at the season finale in Abu Dhabi where Lewis Hamilton‘s chassis will contain the names of 150 fans of the latter. Moreover, the team also had a mega farewell in the works following the end-of-the-season race. David Coulthard revealed the factor which will make the farewell even more ‘special’.

Coulthard noted that Hamilton could go on to win his final race with Mercedes in Abu Dhabi. This would cause a great celebration for the team on top of the other plans. However, the Englishman raised uncertainty over the battle at the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP. If the Briton failed to win the race, then the team wouldn’t be as enthusiastic as both parties would have liked.

He could well win his last ever Grand Prix for Mercedes in Abu Dhabi, and what a great celebration of his time with them that would be. You and I do not know what the next few races hold but, if he does not, it is not going to be the passionate celebration of moving on that maybe they both would have liked.

Lewis Hamilton set to face a ‘massive challenge’ at Ferrari against Charles Leclerc

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is an extremely well-put driver who showcases great racing on track. Hence, Lewis Hamilton will have to go up against one of the better drivers on the grid. Upon this, Coulthard highlighted that the 39-year-old was ‘rolling the dice’ with the Italian constructor. Although the Ferrari move could lead to Hamilton contending for the championship, he will still have to go up against Leclerc.

Lewis is rolling the dice again with Ferrari, It may well lead to a rejuvenation of performance and a fight for the world championship. But it is going to be challenging because he has got [to beat] a very fast Charles Leclerc.

Ferrari’s current upturn in performance is a highly motivating factor for Hamilton to start performing well from the get-go. The 39-year-old is already looking forward to the move as the season finale inches closer. Hence, the coming seasons will be extremely exciting for one of the most successful drivers on the Formula 1 grid.
