Former Jordan F1 team owner, Eddie Jordan has claimed that British driver, Lewis Hamilton will have a fantastic chance of challenging for the world championship next year at Ferrari. Hamilton announced earlier this year that he would be joining the Maranello-based team in 2025.

Lewis Hamilton is set to leave Mercedes after 11 glorious years, with the team winning six world championships and a record 83 Grand Prix wins. Hamilton bids adieu to the ties with the silver arrows in search of an eighth world championship in the coming seasons with Ferrari.

Irish businessman, Eddie Jordan has argued that Hamilton’s move to Ferrari will be the same as his move to Mercedes from McLaren in 2013. Jordan has vested his confidence in the competence of the Brit, saying that the 39-year-old, despite his age, will be a potent threat to all the drivers, including his future teammate Charles Leclerc, who has been on a powerful run and is actively challenging for the title this season.

I think Lewis Hamilton will be a serious contender for the world championship. He will give it an almighty crack next year.
Eddie Jordan said in conversation with former F1 driver David Coulthard

Hamilton is currently without a win or podium this season and has been in a difficult phase for the Silver Arrows ever since the change of regulations at the start of the 2022 season. He will look to keep his hopes high ahead of his move to Ferrari, who are a significant contender for the title this season with their powerful SF-24.

I think they've switched on the tires well. And I think you kind of saw on the inters that that hurt them a little bit at certain points. So, yeah, it was maybe just a stronger weekend for them. But it wasn't totally unexpected. I think Monaco, they looked very strong at certain points. And yeah, I think this weekend, they've been very strong.

Oscar Piastri was in praise of how Mercedes managed their tires during the unpredictable circumstances in Montreal. Mercedes finished the races in P3 and P4, which is their best finish of the 2024 season.

Piastri finished the race P5 after a competitive battle with the W15s of Hamilton and Russell, who strongly overtook the Australian driver during the closing stages of the race. The young driver has been in fine form this season and will look to get back to the podium in two weeks during the exciting race in Barcelona.
