Former Jordan F1 team owner, Eddie Jordan has praised Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for his resilience and consistency on the track. Verstappen finished P2 at the British Grand Prix behind Lewis Hamilton, who clenched his 104th career win.
Max Verstappen leads the championship this season and has been one of the best drivers in Formula One since 2021. Verstappen has been victorious seven times this campaign and has been on the podium nine times out of a possible 11.
Eddie Jordan has spoken of Verstappen’s ability to grasp the best opportunities during crucial moments of a race and has applauded the Dutchman for his pace and skill. However, Jordan went on to claim that the 26-year-old would not have been able to catch up to Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone, despite his pace.
What's unbelievable about Max Verstappen, when you roll back the last 15-20 laps of every race, he comes to the fore and he is a tough, tough nut to crack. Do I think, he could have passed Lewis Hamilton? Truthfully, I don't think so. Lewis had that in hand.Eddie Jordan via Formula For Success podcast
The win at Silverstone comes as a first for Hamilton after a whopping 945 days without a win in Formula 1. On the other hand, Verstappen will be sure to take plenty of positives from his run at the British Grand Prix and will be keen on returning to winning ways in Budapest.
