The Red Bull Formula 1 team is no longer the top dog at the pinnacle of motor racing. Rivals have started getting the better of them during the ongoing 2024 season and seeing the state of their lackluster RB20, the Ex-F1 team owner Eddie Jordan has given a damning verdict.
The Irishman strongly believes that the Milton-Keynes-based team needs to have a serious look at what they are doing wrong. Last year’s RB19 proved to be an unconquerable beast but for some reason, nothing seems to be clicking with the RB20.
Jordan believes Christian Horner has to do something to get the outfit’s season back on track.
It's now catastrophic, Christian Horner has a massive job on hands because he has to take out the big stick and start cracking it.Eddie Jordan said in reference to the RB20 on Formula for Success podcast
Sergio Perez has been struggling with the handling of the RB20 for quite some time. However, things have got so much worse now that even Max Verstappen is finding it difficult to get to grips with the car. Both drivers have recently bashed the machinery for its shortcomings as well.
Red Bull fully determined to make a strong ‘comeback’
While Eddie Jordan has asked Christian Horner to do everything in his power to turn around the situation of Red Bull, the latter is also keen on doing the same. Horner understands the dire situation of the team and has thus, stated that they will make a strong ‘comeback.’
Red Bull is currently leading the constructors championship by only a margin of eight points.
Nobody likes the situation we’re in at the moment, nobody’s happy with it and we’ve got to work really hard to turn it around. But the one thing this team has is strength and depth in talent, and we’ll come back.Christian Horner via F1
Heading to Baku, McLaren is in a prime position to snatch away the championship lead. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been firing on all cylinders and will pose an extremely potent threat to the Red Bull duo. Moreover, Ferrari and Mercedes are also on an upward trajectory. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, Red Bull could be in for a painful outing at the Azerbaijan GP.
