Sergio Perez has had a horrendous 2024 Formula 1 season. He has been nowhere near the level of his teammate Max Verstappen and following his mediocre Interlagos outing, the Ex-F1 team boss Eddie Jordan has brutally blasted the Mexican.

Sergio Perez started the Brazilian GP from P12 but despite this, was not able to make up enough positions. At the end of the extremely tricky 71-lap race, he was only able to make up one position to end up in P11.

Perez, you know, he’s now had how many chances, you think he’d have a drive next year David? Not a chance! Not a chance! Lovely, lovely, lovely guy, you know don’t win you Grand Prix’s.

Jordan has brutally ripped into the six-time Grand Prix winner. His frustration is quite understandable keeping in view the several chances Perez has had at Red Bull. In recent times, the Mexican driver is the only one who has managed to keep his seat for such a long time despite continued mediocre performances.

Liam Lawson in with a strong shot at Sergio Perez’s 2025 seat

While Eddie Jordan does not see Sergio Perez driving for Red Bull next year, he feels RB driver Liam Lawson has the skills to drive for the senior team. Jordan has wholeheartedly backed the New Zealander to drive alongside Max Verstappen in 2025.

The person who stood out for me, and I have to be honest again – Lawson is the real deal here. He drove with a lot of pressure, and he knows how to handle himself. He’s ready to fly in 2025.

Lawson since returning on the F1 grid in place of eighth-time Grand Prix winner Daniel Ricciardo, has impressed one and all with his amazing racing skills. Moreover, following the Brazilian GP, he even received praise from Red Bull’s Christian Horner and Helmut Marko.

The 22-year-old has put himself in an extremely good position for amassing the 2025 Red Bull seat but there is also another strong candidate. His RB teammate Yuki Tsunoda could also get the seat and he is also slated to do a Red Bull test after the end of the 2024 F1 season.
