Lewis Hamilton has made one of the biggest driver moves in F1 history by signing with Scuderia Ferrari. The seven-time world champion hopes to bounce back at Maranello after a recent slump in performance. Now, former F1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi has highlighted how the Briton’s knowledge can help the Italian team.
Fittipaldi emphasized that 2025 was more of a transition year for Lewis Hamilton. The 40-year-old might need some time to adjust at his new team as he makes his first switch since he joined Mercedes all the way back in 2013.
The former world champion claimed that Hamilton has immense wisdom from his success in the sport. As such, the British driver will certainly be able to bolster Ferrari’s prospects. Although, Emerson Fittipaldi suggested that this plan will not happen overnight. Rather, he gave a timeframe of around six months to see the results.
Lewis, it’s a transition year for him. With all his wisdom, all his experience going into Ferrari, it’s going to help Ferrari for sure, but that takes some time, possibly six months.

There are high hopes laid on this partnership. Many suggest that all of Italy is eagerly waiting for the Briton’s debut in red. Fittipaldi asserted that if Lewis Hamilton manages to achieve success with Ferrari, it would be ‘fantastic’ for the world of motorsport. As the seven-time world champion would bag victories with the most iconic team in racing history.
But it’d be great to see Lewis and Ferrari performing well. It’d be fantastic for motorsport.

Certainly, Hamilton and Ferrari aim to live up to the high expectations this year. Though, the two parties will remain realistic about their prospects this year, considering the likely advantage of McLaren. Nevertheless, the Tifosi would like to see Lewis Hamilton fight for race wins from the season opener in Melbourne.
