Ferrari should lick their wounds a bit because they should have got him, but full credit to Aston Martin. I think what he can do at Aston Martin could even be his greatest achievement yet to come because I trust him to turn the team around very quickly.

Nigel Mansell said in an interview with topoffshoresportsbooks

With the coming of new regulations in 2026, Aston Martin will be eyeing a comeback with the help of Newey’s brilliance. The team has endured a turbulent spell this season but remains optimistic of their chances here on.

I think 2026 is in our heads for everyone at Aston and the biggest hope with Adrian coming, Enrico [Cardile] and some other names. So this is going to be great, and the future looks bright, but 2025, we need to shake things a little bit. I mean, it’s not good enough what we are doing right now, and for 2025, we need to change the pace.

Fernando Alonso has been vocal about the issues of the AMR24 at regular intervals throughout the season. He has urged his team to make increments to find greater pace and balance, which have been lacking in their efforts all year.

Adrian Newey will start working with Aston Martin in March 2025, meaning that he will not be able to assist with the early decisions of the AMR25. This leaves the Mike Krack-led team to find and mitigate issues on their own for the initial rounds of the 2025 season.
