The 2024 F1 World Championship fight is going down to the wire. Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have been at it for quite some time and the latter is currently adrift of Verstappen by a margin of 57 points.
Lando Norris has the fastest car underneath him at the moment but, despite this, has not been able to take full advantage of it. The latest example of this was seen at the US GP, where he wasn’t able to get the better of Max Verstappen‘s staunch defense.
Seeing his up-down-form this year, the Ex-F1 driver Anthony Davidson has urged Norris to get his act together.
Davidson via his strong remarks has left no stone unturned in asking Norris to start putting up his A-game consistently. Since Norris’s shortcomings at Circuit of the Americas last week, several people have questioned whether he really has what it takes to become an F1 world champion.
Is it possible to dominate Max Verstappen in Formula 1?
While Anthony Davidson has urged Lando Norris to get his act together, he also wants someone to dominate Max Verstappen. Despite having the third fastest car, the Dutchman has been able to challenge for Grand Prix wins.
None of the other drivers have been able to totally dominate the 27-year-old.
Verstappen has consecutively amassed three world championships since 2021. The ongoing ground-effect era has majorly belonged to him and it is only this year that rivals have been able to put up a challenge against him. He has only managed to secure seven wins in the 19 races that have taken place so far this year.
Norris is in with a strong chance of dethroning Verstappen off his pedestal. However, keeping in view the timid/inconsistent nature of his performances, it is extremely difficult to envision the Brit lifting the 2024 driver’s championship.
