Age? I don’t think about it too much, even if the media continues to remind me from time to time of some of the statistics and numbers that concern me. As far as I’m concerned, though, I feel like I’m 25 or 30 and I keep competing.

I don’t feel the age, I’m still motivated, fresh, trained to drive in F1 and to do the same training I did 20 years ago, because more or less the routine is always the same.

I think it depends on my discipline in work and training and on my dedication to Formula 1 which is quite extreme. But the results can be seen. I have never missed a test session or a debriefing with the engineers or a factory meeting. I’ve never particularly loved partying. Maybe the results can be seen now that I’m over 40, but it all started when I was 20 or 30. That’s the period when you really have to dedicate yourself to F1 to have the chance to reap the benefits later.

Hence, time will tell about how the Silverstone-based constructor fares against its rivals in the coming season.
