Scuderia Ferrari had high expectations for the 2024 season. Team boss Fred Vasseur had worked hard behind the scenes last year to turn things around at Maranello. However, it seems that the Italian team has struggled to match rivals over the past few months.

The Scuderia has won two races this season. However, Red Bull, Mercedes, and now McLaren have all bagged more victories than Ferrari. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have struggled to be consistently on the podium in recent rounds as the top 3 teams battle it out for victory.

F1 heads to Monza this weekend for the Italian GP. The ‘Temple of Speed’ will be filled by hundreds of thousands of Tifosi cheering for the Prancing Horse. However, it seems that Ferrari might end up having an embarrassing performance this weekend.

Ferrari upgrades might not be enough to turn the tide at the Italian GP

McLaren seems to have the fastest car on the grid at the moment, with Red Bull being the second quickest. Ferrari is in the mix, albeit a distant fourth with too many issues during race weekends. Carlos Sainz even failed to make it to Q3 in Zandvoort while Charles Leclerc lashed out on the team radio during the race.

It is clear that the Scuderia still needs to work on all areas if it wants to win in F1. Unfortunately, it seems that Ferrari might be forced to accept a podium finish as a good result in Monza. Maranello is bringing a major upgrade this weekend. However, the deficit to McLaren might be too large to be overturned within a single round.

Charles Leclerc has stated that the team is in a difficult period after a few rough weekends. Although, both Leclerc and Carlos Sainz hope to be fighting for victory in Monza. Nevertheless, it seems that only an outside chance could really out Ferrari in the mix for the top spot in front of the Tifosi at the Temple of Speed.
