Ben Hunt claims Lewis Hamilton joined Ferrari at the ‘perfect time’
Multiple individuals berated Lewis Hamilton’s timing of joining Ferrari as he wouldn’t be racing for many more years. However, the infamous journalist Ben Hunt talked highly of Hamilton’s timing in joining the Italian constructor.

Hunt reckoned that the naysayers were speaking ‘nonsense’ and reckoned that this was the perfect timing for the move. The 49-year-old further pointed out that the 40-year-old was the one ditching Mercedes and joining Maranello for the upcoming season.
Too old? Nonsense, now is the perfect time for Hamilton to join Ferrari… The odds are stacked against Hamilton – but he would not want it any other way. Remember, it was Hamilton’s decision to cut short his contract with Mercedes and seek a new challenge with Ferrari, not the other way around. Things had gone stale at Mercedes, it was time to move on to a new challenge.
Ben Hunt said on Autosport.com.
Ferrari’s recent upturn in performance in the 2024 season is a highly motivating factor for Hamilton ahead of his entry. The team has already planned an ‘elastic’ testing schedule in order to test under ideal conditions around the Fiorano circuit. The 2025 season would be extremely interesting to witness as the Briton would form a formidable pair with Charles Leclerc.
