Former Le Mans-winning team boss Frans Verschuur claimed that Jos Verstappen really doesn’t care who the other driver is beside his son Max Verstappen. Instead, Jos Verstappen is more worried about all the unnecessary drama caused within the team.
According to Frans Verschuur, Max Verstappen‘s father Jos Verstappen doesn’t speak up about the issues within the team. Verschuur reckoned, the senior Verstappen and Red Bull don’t care much about who is at fault. The former F1 driver isn’t too concerned about this as he has all the support he needs. However, 52-year-old was more worried about the disruptions within the team. Previously, Jos Verstappen had claimed that Red Bull was at the verge of falling apart.
Jos doesn’t say anything about it either. They don’t give a damn about who’s wrong. Jos doesn’t think that’s very important. He does have the resources around him, and he is already afraid of the unrest in the team.Frans Verschuur reported to PlanetF1.com
Verschuur suggests that the team might have kept Sergio Perez to maintain peace within the team, but he doesn’t agree with this approach. The former racing team boss reckoned that Red Bull should’ve removed Perez from the team to improve the situation.
Maybe they did this to get that peace back into the team, by putting Perez in, but I don’t think it’s a good story. Get rid of that guy!Frans Verschuur said
Verschuur claims ‘it’s incomprehensible’ to extend Sergio Perez’s contract
Verschuur explains his confusion about not understanding why Sergio Perez was given a two-year contract extension. He insisted that the Mexican driver caused a lot of problems for the team and doesn’t contribute enough. Perez’s performance in the last three races were nowhere near Verstappen, this did not help Red Bull capitalize on some points in the championship battle. Verschuur felt that Max Verstappen has to handle everything on his own.
It is incomprehensible that that man has been given a two-year contract. He causes so much damage, he doesn’t even generate that much. He doesn’t get any points for the Constructors’ Championship, so that is also a tragedy. Max has to do it alone.Frans Verschuur explained
Frans Verschuur claimed Red Bull must empty their second seat for Yuki Tsunoda so that they can avoid these troubles caused by Perez. He reckoned that the Japanese driver can be a perfect driver for the Red Bull in future.
Put Yuki in and switch the two! I don’t understand itFrans Verschuur added
Overall, Frans Verschuur hoped that Red Bull gave Yuki Tsunoda a seat at Red Bull instead of Sergio Perez. This would’ve given Milton Keynes much-needed support in the title battle. Currently, Red Bull fans want Perez to bounce back to his initial form and score points for the team to maintain a strong lead in the Constructors’ Championship.
