Max Verstappen is widely regarded as the most dominant driver in Formula 1 today. The Dutchman showcases incredible skill and talent, proving he can drive cars at exceptional levels. However, Sacha Fenestraz, a French motorsport driver, has drawn comparisons between his former Formula E teammate, Oliver Rowland and Verstappen.

Oliver Rowland is a talented British racing driver competing in Formula E for the Nissan team. He began his motorsports career in karting and advanced through various single-seater championships. The Briton excelled in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, clinching the championship in 2015. He has since competed in GP2 and Formula E where he earned the Rookie of the Year award. The 32-year-old has secured multiple podium finishes in his career so far.

Rowland is a close friend of three-time world champion Max Verstappen. Sacha Fenestraz, who raced against the Briton in Formula E, boldly claims that Rowland’s skills are on par with the reigning world champion. He even mentioned that the 26-year-old himself believes it is a pity Rowland isn’t in Formula 1. Verstappen earlier this year claimed that the 32-year-old could easily overshadow the Dutchman at the pinnacle of motor racing.

He’s very good friends with Verstappen and this year Verstappen was telling Oliver that it’s a pity he’s not in Formula 1 because he’d be overshadowing him.

Max Verstappen doesn’t want to be in ‘four or five’ different teams in F1

Rumors suggest that Max Verstappen is considering a move from Red Bull to Mercedes in 2026. His contract includes an exit clause that allows him to leave if the Austrian team fails to provide a race-winning car. While a top driver like Fernando Alonso has frequently switched teams throughout his career, Verstappen values stability and familiarity.

He believes it’s easy to change teams but prefers not to be recognized for doing so multiple times. Since joining Red Bull in 2016, the 26-year-old has established a strong bond with the team. The Dutchman aims to maintain this connection rather than becoming known for changing teams four or five times.

I have been part of this team for a long time, ultimately, every driver in the paddock wants to win. It is very easy to change teams, but I don’t want my career to be marked in this way. I don’t want to be part of four or five different teams.

The 2024 Formula 1 season has only six races remaining on the calendar. Mercedes has announced its driver lineup for 2025, making it likely that Verstappen will remain with Red Bull next year. Currently, the three-time world champion is competing against Lando Norris for the 2024 World Championship, leading Brit by 52 points.
