Red Bull’s extreme struggles in the 2024 season have caught Max Verstappen in the whirlwind. The Dutchman is unable to compete for race wins anymore as the championship battle tightens. The 27-year-old faces a serious threat from in-form Lando Norris for the championship contention. Regardless, Verstappen has maintained the championship lead as his win would help ‘reorganize’ Red Bull in the coming season.
Red Bull has been subjected to major personnel changes amidst the tumultuous pace of the 2024 season. Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, etc are some of the crucial people that have left the team. Ex-F1 driver Gerhard Berger noted that amidst the massive personnel change, the new leaders had a chance to prove themselves. Berger believed that this change was also another reason behind the declining pace.
Max Verstappen has still scored impressive points over the race weekend and maintained the championship lead. The Dutchman is still on the trajectory to easily emerge as the 2024 World Drivers’ Champion. Gerhard Berger claimed that Red Bull would have the time to reorganize their structure if Verstappen won the championship this season.

Red Bull’s downfall in performance in the 2024 season was ‘completely unexpected’
Red Bull started the 2024 season off in a highly dominant fashion, similar to their previous rodeo. However, McLaren and others quickly learned the ropes and became faster than Milton Keynes. Gerhard Berger highlighted that he never expected Red Bull to fall into such a situation. Berger recalled the start of the season when Max Verstappen was believed to showcase total dominance once again.
The 2024 season has continued to peak in excitement and racing action amidst the enticing battle at the top. Both the championships are all to win for as multiple teams set their eyes on the prize. Red Bull has crushing hopes of a constructors’ championship contention regardless of working hard to improve pace for the six pending races.
