The former 10-time Grand Prix winner, Gerhard Berger has shared his opinion on the current trajectory of F1 stalwart, Adrian Newey. The Brit in recent times announced he would be leaving Red Bull after 18 glorious years with the team.
Adrian Newey is one of the most decorated designers in the history of F1, having won 13 drivers’ championships and 12 constructors’ championships. He has been involved in the pinnacle of motorsport for over 40 years. As such, the departure of the British engineer from the Milton-Keynes outfit has caught the eye of various teams across the grid who are keen on signing him.

As per Gerhard Berger, Newey could benefit the most from joining Scuderia Ferrari, who have been a force to be reckoned with in F1 this season. The Maranello-based team further awaits the arrival of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is set to join the Reds next season in hopes of uplifting their championship chances even more.
Newey is an absolute genius - where he is, there is success. He has proven that over the last 25 years. At the moment, however, it looks like Newey will end up at Ferrari. If that happens, and I'm assuming it will, a new era of success could begin with team boss Frederic Vasseur, Newey, Charles Leclerc and Hamilton. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, under the leadership of Fred Vasseur, will be the favorites to clench the title next season, with Ferrari giving their all to signing the best talents across the grid. The addition of Adrian Newey to this dynamic combination will cement their chances even more, as the Maranello-based team will pursue utter dominance with the technical ability of the British designer.
Fred Vasseur talks of speeding up of upgrades for Ferrari
Ferrari team principal, Fred Vasseur has spoken of the utter need for the team to speed up their upgrades for upcoming races. The outfit suffered an unfortunate double DNF in Montreal after showing signs of dominance just weeks before in Monaco.

What is true is that we are at the point now where we will have to speed up the development. Imagine that someone could bring an upgrade one race [earlier] when you have three teams in one tenth, you can jump from P5 to P1. It means that we’ll have to speed up the time to market, it will be crucial.Fred Vasseur via PlanetF1
Ferrari is currently one of the front-running teams on the grid along with Red Bull and McLaren. Vasseur has hence called for the need for faster and better upgrades in an attempt to bridge the crucial tenths in race pace to get to the very top of their performance.
Both drivers, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz, have won a race this season, which has resulted in Ferrari scoring 252 points across nine races, placing them just 49 points adrift of Red Bull. Vasseur will now have to plan the correct course of action in bringing the upgrades to the SF-24 to overtake Red Bull in the championship fight for the first time in over two years.
