Adrian Newey‘s signing with Aston Martin shocked the entire Formula 1 paddock. Red Bull believed that the aero-genius would retire from the sport after exiting the team. However, billionaire Lawrence Stroll continued to build Aston Martin’s F1 project after acquiring Newey and a Honda power unit deal from 2026 onwards. The Ex-Haas F1 boss Guenther Steiner revealed the advantage behind this massive move.

Following Adrian Newey‘s arrival, multiple rival outfits and drivers would start looking at the Silverstone-based team. Newey’s work would enable the outfit to finally contend for world championships. Hence, Guenther Steiner believed that Aston Martin would attract good people to their team.

What Aston Martin is doing at the moment, they are trying to attract good people so they can be World Champion, because Adrian, on his own, cannot do it.

Regardless, Newey was one of the greatest engineers in Formula 1 concerning chassis building if not the greatest. Steiner noted that Newey would be a great help in reviving Aston Martin’s depleting pace by the 2026 season. Additionally, the Italian-American claimed that Lawrence Stroll was putting his hand where his mouth was.

But I mean, obviously Adrian is very good at what he does and he will be a big help and obviously Lawrence Stroll is putting his hand where his mouth is.

Guenther Steiner added

Adrian Newey will ‘motivate’ many young people to enter F1

Adrian Newey’s work would enable people to also gain more interest in the sport. The Englishman brought not only his knowledge with him but also the intelligence and the interest of a lot of good and young people. The 65-year-old would motivate the young talent to work at Aston Martin, ultimately boosting the team’s performance.

Because if you have got somebody like him, it’s not only what he brings himself, he’s got his knowledge about the sport, his intelligence, but it’s also a lot of good people, young people look and say I want to work there. I’m motivated, because Adrian went there. I want to go there.

Aston Martin’s disappointing pace in the 2024 season might witness a massive change in the coming years. The team has continued to gain more and more speed with their F1 project after such big changes. Additionally, Fernando Alonso‘s extension with the team is all the more good news for the constructor.
