The Mercedes Formula 1 team has been on an upward trajectory during the 2024 season. Since Monaco, the team has kicked their campaign into fifth gear and as a result, has already amassed three Grand Prix wins.
Ex-Haas boss Guenther Steiner has been keeping close tabs on their progress, ahead of this week’s Dutch Grand Prix, he has taken the time to shower praise on the Mercedes team. The Brackley-based outfit triumphed in last three of the four races before the summer break.

I think they did a good job because they were struggling the last two years and you could really see it. But for me, I don't think they've got the stability or the understanding of the car like McLaren. That's my feeling.Guenther Steiner via Racingnews365 podcast
The Toto Wolff-led outfit has so far managed to amass 266 points in the 2024 Constructors Championship and is currently, in fourth position. Moreover, they are continuously improving and could give the lights of McLaren and Red Bull a big run for their money.
Guenther Steiner ‘unsure’ of Mercedes’ prospects in Zandvoort
While Guenther Steiner has applauded Mercedes, he has also made it known that he is not sure where the team will be in the pecking order in Zandvoort. The W15 has improved regularly but so have the challengers of the other top outfits.

But they are good and they are back. But already, if you ask me, 'How will Monza be?', I think Monza will be good for Mercedes because it's high speed and they are good normally at high speed. But how good will they be in Zandvoort? I don't really know. But we all know McLaren will be good in both of these race tracks.Guenther Steiner via the same interview
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were extremely pleased with the performance output of the W15 in the last few races before the summer break. Both managed to amass victories and considering this, they will be hoping for much of the same.
Going forward into the 10 remaining races, the onus will be on the people working behind the scenes to keep improving the challenger as much as possible. If they manage to do so, Mercedes will have every chance of putting up a serious fight for the coveted constructors title.
