Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has iterated on his observations after Lando Norris‘ win at the Dutch Grand Prix. Norris massively outpaced Max Verstappen to claim the second win of his career with a commanding 22-second lead.

Lando Norris has been a consistent face at the front row throughout the 2024 season. Despite his efforts, he has been a bit inconsistent against Max Verstappen, who currently leads the driver’s title race by 70 points.

Helmut Marko, however, was in high praise of the 24-year-old’s chances in the championship after his win in Zandvoort. Marko concluded that Norris currently possesses the pace to match Verstappen going forward.

Red Bull expected the RB20 to be slower as compared to McLaren’s MCL38 around the Zandvoort circuit. They will now look to work on their shortfalls in delivering a competitive package in time for the Italian GP next week.

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella was pleased with the speed of the MCL38 at the Dutch Grand Prix. The Woking-based team brought significant upgrades to their car in Zandvoort, which greatly favored them in the 72-lap race.

Andrea Stella thanked every person associated with the development of the MCL38. The hard work of the team has borne fruit, McLaren is now only 30 points behind Red Bull in the coveted constructor’s championship.

The upcoming race at Monza will demand significant pace and prowess from the upgrades of the Woking-based team. They will look forward to experimenting and perfecting their car there, in order to continue their dominance next week as well.
