Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has shared his thoughts over Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari in 2025. The 39-year-old will depart Mercedes after 12 glorious years to join forces with the Maranello-based team next year.
Lewis Hamilton will partner Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc from next season on. Leclerc, who is known to be one of the most talented drivers on the grid, shares a deep sense of respect for Hamilton. Banking on the hopes of their two stars, Ferrari chases a title for the first time since 2008.
Helmut Marko has, however, shared his concerns regarding the partnership of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. The 81-year-old feels that the Maranello-based team might struggle to keep harmony between the two drivers.
In terms of drivers, Ferrari will be stronger next year, although I’m curious to see whether they will have great harmony in the team.
Helmut Marko told oe24
Leclerc’s ambition to win a first world title clashes with Hamilton’s long search for a record eighth championship. Both of them will hence have to be treated as equals by Ferrari in order to avoid tensions in the team.
Charles Leclerc likes being challenged by champion Max Verstappen
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have been friends and competitors since a very young age. The two battled vehemently during their karting days and are now two of the most promising drivers in Formula 1.

You know that he’s not going to let any hundreds go. And that whatever he can do to maximise the car, he will do. I think, like every other driver, he’s really on it every lap. And you cannot really relax. But I like this challenge. We’ve raced each other for a long time, and I liked it.

Leclerc has appreciated the hard and fast nature of Max Verstappen‘s racing this season. The 27-year-old claims that the Dutchman’s skills challenge him to become a better and more aware driver.
Verstappen, who clinched the fourth championship of his career last Saturday, has defied all odds this season. Despite not having the fastest car, he has won eight times so far. This now leaves Leclerc to salvage the most points to help Ferrari in the constructors’ championship from here on.
