Max Verstappen has raced for Red Bull since 2016. However, there have been rumors lately regarding the Dutchman potentially leaving Milton Keynes. Now, Dr. Helmut Marko has firmly put an end to such speculation.
Reports had emerged that Mercedes was looking to sign Verstappen for 2026. Though, recently Toto Wolff dismissed claims of wanting to have the four-time world champion at the Silver Arrows. Moreover, Aston Martin was rumored to propose a $1.2 billion deal to the Dutchman.
Marko made it clear that Max Verstappen remains loyal and grateful to Red Bull Racing. The 81-year-old asserted that the 27-year-old will continue with the Austrian team next season after being crowned a five-time world champion in 2025.
Helmut Marko gives no comment response on Max Verstappen exit clause
There have been speculation of a performance clause in Verstappen’s contract which could allow him to switch teams before 2028. Helmut Marko refused to comment on such a possibility and claimed that Red Bull can provide the reigning world champion a capable car. Previously, it was reported that Marko had removed a clause which linked him to Max Verstappen.
Certainly, the four-time world champion will likely continue with Red Bull for the foreseeable future. Though, things can change drastically if the Austrian team falls behind McLaren and Ferrari at the start of 2025. This could potentially trigger tensions within Milton Keynes and make Max Verstappen rethink his future.
