Helmut Marko outlines Red Bull’s ‘advantage’ in battle at the front of the grid

The 2024 grid has witnessed tough competition for race victories. Ferrari has already won two races this season with McLaren taking one victory. Moreover, Mercedes seemed to have the pace to emerge victorious at the Canadian GP after George Russell labeled the race as a ‘missed opportunity’ for the Silver Arrows.

Helmut Marko claimed that this situation gave Red Bull an advantage as the other three teams kept fighting against one another. The 81-year-old highlighted that the Austrian team did not have a single opponent, rather the three teams were taking points away from each other in the battle against the reigning world champions.

This situation is a great advantage for us that the pursuers are constantly replacing each other here. We don't have one opponent, but three who snap the points away from each other.
Helmut Marko explained

Certainly, Red Bull remain the favorites for the 2024 F1 world title courtesy of Max Verstappen. However, the Austrian team’s upcoming upgrades need to deliver if Milton Keynes hopes to continue its advantage over the course of the season. Certainly, fans would be looking forward to seeing how things pan out for Verstappen’s squad in the coming races.
