Red Bull F1 has once again been the team to beat at the pinnacle of motor racing. The recent loss at the Austrian GP was a major shock to them and the fans but with Silverstone just around the corner, Helmut Marko has admitted that the Austrian outfit is ready to make a major statement!!

At Red Bull’s home race in Speilberg, things were running quite smoothly for the outfit until Max Verstappen had a slow final pitstop. From that point on, things went downward as after a few tussles with a charging Lando Norris, they ultimately made contact during the closing stages and Verstappen slipped from P1 to P5 by the end of the race.

We'll strike back, we'll bring an upgrade. I also always say: Our goal is the world championship title, and the Austrian GP helped us to achieve that.

Looking at the reaction of the 81-year-old veteran on F1, it is quite clear that the personnel at Red Bull are hard at work ahead of the British GP. Upgrades are coming to Silverstone and Verstappen and Co. are ready to unleash additional performance.

Red Bull reveals why Max Verstappen had a slow Austrian GP pitstop

While Marko has made it known that Red Bull is ready to start the British GP weekend in sixth gear, he has also given the exact reason behind Verstappen’s slow pitstop in Austria. A nut got jammed which led to the 26-year-old having a slop final pitstop.

Verstappen came into the pits for his final pitstop on lap 52 of the Austrian GP.

A nut was jammed - but that can happen. We made over 50 pit stops in the two-second range, some of which decided between victory and defeat. So I'm not blaming anyone now, it's a quick thing to put aside.
Helmut Marko said in the same interview

With Austria done and dusted, the ongoing campaign is 11 rounds down. Red Bull has amassed seven victories and all of them have been courtesy of Max Verstappen. The 2024 F1 season has proved to be extremely tight and considering this, it is high time that Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez also starts chipping in with solid performances. Otherwise, the team could really come under immense threat in the world championship by the lights of Mercedes, McLaren, and Ferrari.
