I am sure that if Max leaves one day, we will have his successor. Rocco has really surprised us. He’s 13, so he was younger than Max when we started with him. There were several good drivers, but for his age, Rocco Coronel was certainly exceptional.

Helmut Marko told gpblog

Marko claimed that Coronel might one day become Verstappen’s successor if he keeps up with his good runs. With the current uncertainty surrounding the Dutchman’s future, Red Bull’s lookout for younger prospects might be a wise decision after all.

In that regard, Helmut Marko took the example of Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Franco Colapinto. Antonelli is set to drive for the Silver Arrows in 2025, while Colapinto will drive for Williams Racing until the end of this year.

Youth is the trend again. What we used to do, is now being done by Mercedes with Antonelli, Haas with Bearman, and I also hope that [Franco] Colapinto will end up somewhere. He was thrown in at the deep end [by Williams] and has delivered three great races.

Helmut Marko told OR

The 81-year-old has deemed youth as the current trend in Formula 1. Marko has been in high praise of Colapinto specifically for his bold performances so far. Red Bull will now turn their attention to younger drivers to ensure a more stable future.
