Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez has made a hilarious gesture ahead of his much-awaited home race in Mexico. Formula 1 returns to action at the Circuit of the Americas next month, following which, the sport will be hosted in Mexico.

Sergio Perez has been central to ample rumors and speculations in light of his performances this season. The 34-year-old has been fairly lackluster in his bouts, securing only four podiums so far. He has since been rumored to leave Red Bull after the Mexican Grand Prix this season.

Perez therefore posted a clip of Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio from the movie The Wolf of Wall Street on his Instagram story. The Mexican hilariously squashed any apparent speculations by posting the infamous clip of Di Caprio.

Perez has to prove his worth to the Milton-Keynes-based team, having reached the last six races of the campaign. The ongoing month-long break until Austin will help him in preparing well for a better outcome next month.

Six-time grand prix winner Sergio Perez has not had the best of outings ever since the start of 2023. The 34-year-old has been the subject of widespread scrutiny throughout the better part of this season as well.

I want to finish my career when I want and not when someone tells me. That’s my main focus: to get to the point where I can decide my future. For now I am very motivated, to be honest, I really want to continue in F1. I enjoy it. Especially the good times you enjoy, but you also learn to enjoy the bad ones.

Perez talks of seeking control over the decisions regarding his future. The Mexican driver has claimed of being motivated despite the setbacks and wants to consider retirement only when he feels like it.
