Lewis Hamilton is officially a Scuderia Ferrari driver as the 2025 season nears commencement. The Briton’s contract with the team could prove to be his last in the sport. Every Formula 1 driver wants to race for the Italian constructor once in their lifetime. Hence, Ex-F1 driver Jacky Ickx declared Hamilton’s ultimate goal with the team.

Jacky Ickx talked about the bright side of racing at Ferrari for a Formula 1 driver. The Belgian reckoned that grabbing an opportunity when life was easy made the work not feel important enough. However, if a driver raced for Ferrari for over ten years, then it was evident that the person’s heart was tainted ‘red.’

I think if life is well made, and if you have the opportunity to do the things you like, it is easy because it does not work anymore. But it is clear that if you are at Ferrari for a few years and then other brands for 10 years or more, if you speak Ferrari, clearly your heart is tainted red at the end.

Ickx highlighted that even Lewis Hamilton was attracted to end his career with Ferrari in a similar fashion to previous drivers of the Scuderia. The 80-year-old asserted that this situation was ‘fantastic’ as Hamilton was the only one with control of his career.

I can see that even Lewis is attracted to be there for the end of his career. Honestly, it is fantastic because only he knows what he can do and where he wants to go.

Fred Vasseur demands Ferrari crew to ‘focus on the job’ following Lewis Hamilton’s entry

Lewis Hamilton will finally be able to test with Ferrari following the end of his contract with Mercedes. As a result, the excitement level of the team’s crew and fans in the world peaked at an all-time high. The Maranello-based team’s boss Fred Vasseur pointed out this fact and further reckoned that the crew must focus on their job following the celebrations on day one.

Everybody all over the world is excited and for sure, the mechanics are also excited, but because it’s always exciting to have someone who is a seven-times World Champion into the car. But I think after the day one, we’ll have to turn this page and to be focused on the job.
