Carlos Sainz recently revealed a switch to Williams after unexpectedly being ousted from Ferrari to make way for Lewis Hamilton. The Spaniard was considered for multiple mid-field teams for the coming season but decided that the Grove-based constructor was the best option. Hence, James Vowles is hopeful of potent performances from Sainz in the coming season and asserted that the latter would beat a Ferrari soon.

Carlos Sainz was extremely dissatisfied with being unexpectedly removed from Ferrari after Lewis Hamilton joined the team. Regardless, Sainz played the waiting game and decided to resort to Williams for the coming season. The constructors’ form in the 2024 season is sub-par at best, with 16 points scored in 18 outings.

Regardless of the recent downfall in performance, James Vowles is confident in Carlos Sainz’s capabilities. Vowles noted that Sainz was the right man to take Williams to greater heights. Additionally, the Englishman believed that the Spaniard would be even happier with his choice after beating Ferrari with a Williams chassis.

Carlos is the right man for Williams, and his contribution to the team will be amazing. When he beats Ferrari on board a Williams, he’ll be even happier with his choice.

Carlos Sainz blamed Lewis Hamilton for the former’s unexpected departure from Ferrari

Carlos Sainz was rumored to be in talks with Ferrari for a contract renewal following Charles Leclerc‘s contract extension. However, Lewis Hamilton’s availability for the Italian constructor meant that the decision was a no-brainer. Hence, Sainz blamed the seven-time world champion for such a disappointing end to his stint with Ferrari.

The relationship does not end because Ferrari was unhappy with me, but because of Lewis Hamilton. It’s his fault. Everything was in place for my renewal, but when Hamilton entered the picture, my plans were ruined.

Regardless of the unexpected end to Sainz’s career with the Italian constructor, he could dream of moving back to Maranello. Hamilton might retire from the sport after a few years and potentially open the seat again for the Spaniard. Hence, time will tell about how the Williams stint pans out for the 30-year-old in F1.
