Jos Verstappen made it clear that Max Verstappen remains unbothered over alleged British media bias in Formula 1.

Max Verstappen had a controversial title campaign in 2024. The Dutch driver faced backlash from credits. Verstappen reckoned that most of the criticism he faced came from British media. Now, the Red Bull star’s father has doubled down on the situation.
Aero genius Adrian Newey had previously claimed that British media had demonized Verstappen over his battle against Lando Norris. The 27-year-old agreed with Newey’s remarks. Though, British F1 pundit Martin Brundle had dismissed such claims.
Jos Verstappen asserted that Newey was right about the bias media in F1. The former F1 driver emphasized that Max Verstappen was above this ruckus and ignored the situation as much as possible. Verstappen Sr. pointed out that the four-time world champion had started to give shorter answers in press conferences.
Max Verstappen only gets better from ‘unjustified criticism’
The 52-year-old insisted that such unjustified criticism only makes Max Verstappen better on-track. The reigning world champion does get more irritated but knows how to silence critics once he gets back in the cockpit. Jos Verstappen reckoned that other drivers understood the Dutch driver’s way of racing.
Certainly, Max Verstappen’s driving style will likely remain a hot topic next season. The four-time world champion is in no mood to change things. However, it remains to be seen if the FIA takes a tougher stance on aggressive wheel-to-wheel battles in 2025.
