McLaren remained undefeated at the Spanish GP after both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris maximized points by achieving a one-two finish. Both the Papaya drivers gave it their all to remain at the front of the grid. While Norris looked strong from the get-go and minimized errors throughout the race, he couldn’t quite bridge the performance gap to Piastri throughout the race.
Lando Norris‘ impressive lap during the Qualifying session was one-upped by Oscar Piastri as the latter looked extremely strong since the beginning of the weekend. As such, Piastri remained the favorite to win the Spanish GP this year from the get-go. Now, as Norris cedes a close runner-up finish, he has shared his opinion on the hard-fought battle in Barcelona.
Lando Norris didn’t hesitate to applaud Oscar Piastri’s mega drive around the Barcelona circuit that helped him achieve the coveted race win. The 25-year-old accepted that he simply did not have enough pace in him to topple his Australian counterpart from the top. Regardless, Norris reckoned that the team gave it their all, as he remains happy with a P2 finish.
Oscar drove a very good race today, didn’t quite have the pace to match him but we gave it our best shot.
Lando Norris said in a post-race interview
The entire race remained stagnant as the grid bunched up towards the final few laps of the race following a late-race safety car. This caused an even more intense battle between Norris and Piastri in the final laps. The Briton highlighted that anything could have happened throughout the race as the Australian lucked out this time around. The 25-year-old also pointed out that the two got sideways during the race restart as he still couldn’t overtake his teammate.
It was a long race and anything could happy, we both got pretty sideways at the restart!

Lando Norris laughs at ‘Mario Kart’ clash between Max Verstappen and George Russell
The final stages of the Spanish GP were nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman became a victim of Red Bull’s poor strategy and was on the back foot since the beginning of the restart. To make matters worse, Verstappen intentionally collided with George Russell out of anger due to receiving a time penalty for the latter’s fault. Lando Norris couldn’t hold back from making a hilarious comment in the drivers’ cooldown room.

All the podium finishers had a similar shocking reaction to Verstappen’s collision with Russell. Norris made a cheeky comment after watching the incident. The Briton reckoned that he had done a similar tactic before. However, the 25-year-old immediately added that the accident was made only in Mario Kart and not in real life, like the Dutchman did.
I’ve done this before… in Mario Kart.
