Max Verstappen is likely to contend with Lando Norris for the drivers’ title in the 2025 season. Verstappen defied all odds and won the title in the previous season against Norris, despite racing in an inferior challenger. Now, the Briton has accepted being ‘less designed’ for Formula 1 than the reigning world champion.
Lando Norris faced backlash in the 2024 season after making some controversial comments about Max Verstappen. The Briton double downed on his previous comments and claimed that Verstappen was a driver with no weaknesses. The 25-year-old labeled Verstappen as one of the best drivers ever in Formula 1. Moreover, Norris highlighted that the 27-year-old was designed more for the sport than him.
He doesn’t really have any. He’s one of the best drivers ever in Formula One. He’s designed for Formula One a lot more than I am, and he’s a challenge to go up against and a challenge to beat.
Lando Norris said, as reported by GPblog
Norris also recalled his mistakes in the 2024 season and noted how that cost him the victory against Verstappen. However, the Briton insisted that he also won some races against the reigning world champion. The 25-year-old believed that if he could rewind the time and go back to those races, he wouldn’t commit certain mistakes and change the outcome.
I think I made my mistakes last year, but I also beat him in certain races. I think if I was able to just to go and rewind and have another attempt at several of those chances, the outcome would be different.

Lando Norris prepares for ‘anything to happen’ against the rivals in the 2025 season
McLaren remained the fastest team on the grid during the pre-season testing and is expected to start the season off with a bang. However, Lando Norris aims to keep his head down and focus on performances against the rivals. The 25-year-old accepts that almost all other drivers are equally as tough to beat as Max Verstappen. Hence, Norris prepares for all contingencies in the upcoming season against the rivals.

A lot of the others are almost just as good, and just as competitive and just as difficult to beat. We’re keeping our heads down, focusing on ourselves from now, but come Australia, we’re ready for anything to happen.
Lando Norris noted
The 2025 season will be extremely interesting as the reigning constructors’ champions aim to extend their lead. Norris on the other hand has a lot at stake as he could finally secure his maiden drivers’ title in Formula 1. Time will tell about how the rivals, especially Verstappen cope against Woking’s superior pace on the grid.
