Lando Norris breaks silence on relationship with Oscar Piastri after Hungarian GP drama
Lando Norris reckoned that his relationship with Oscar Piastri improved further despite the late-race drama at the Hungarian GP.

McLaren has emerged as the most dominant chassis on the grid mid-way through the 2024 season. The Woking team has scored some highly dominant performances amidst Red Bull’s struggles. Oscar Piastri secured his maiden victory at the Hungarian GP followed by a late-race position-swap drama involving Lando Norris. Hence, the Briton opened up regarding his friendship with Oscar following the controversy.
Lando Norris was able to overcome Oscar Piastri to potentially score the race win after a botched strategy for the latter. However, McLaren forced Norris to give up his position by the end of the race to let the Aussie win. Hence, the Briton didn’t let his teammate through easily and made the team practically beg for the decision.
Multiple personals around the sport believed that this situation led to a hurt relationship between the two drivers and the team. However, Norris made it very clear that there were no grudges between the two teammates after the controversy. On the contrary, the Briton noted that his friendship got even better after the Hungarian GP.

Lando Norris claims ‘things will always get questioned’ after such controversies
Lando Norris further recalled the incident and the activities following it. The Briton noted that things would always be questioned after such a controversial end to the races. Additionally, the people would continue to take things out of proportion. Regardless, the 24-year-old pointed out that the team was in great form and the two drivers trusted one another during races.
Of course things always gonna get questioned and everyone's going out of proportion a little bit. But, we good, the team are in very good form. We will trust one another more and we will work together very well and for us that's the most important thing.Lando Norris added
The 2024 season has peaked in excitement due to the competition between McLaren and Red Bull. Milton Keynes is currently running the highest risk of being replaced by Woking at the top spot. Hence, the two teams will have to continue to work hard to improve in positions towards the end of the season.
