McLaren driver Lando Norris has backed his team to fight for both the drivers’ and the constructors’ championship. The Woking-based team has been one of the fastest teams on the grid this year.
Lando Norris is currently in the best form of his career, amassing two wins and 10 podiums. He stands second in the drivers’ championship behind Max Verstappen, who leads by 62 points. Norris’ mistakes have been the singular factor in his lost wins and chances despite being in top form.
The 24-year-old has his full faith in his team to acquire the championship silverware at the end of the season. The Papayas are currently the favorites to win the constructors’ title, as they trail merely by eight points to Red Bull.
Our goal is clear. I have every faith in the team to keep working and improving. Now with both Championships on the table, we're more determined than ever. I'm proud of the team and can’t wait to see what we can do this weekend.Lando Norris said via gpblog
The Woking-based team has finally emerged as a front-running team for the first time since the late 2000s. Their impeccable form has to continue the way it has so far if they are to win both titles this season.
Ex-F1 driver wants Lando Norris to adopt a an aggressive racing style
Former Colombian racer Juan Pablo Montoya was known to be a fairly aggressive racer during his time in Formula 1. Montoya won seven races and amassed 30 podiums racing for McLaren and Williams Racing.
In my opinion, Lando needs to be a bit more aggressive. I would be if I were him.Juan Pablo Montoya told AS Columbia
Norris has been notorious for failing to hold on to his position despite starting on pole multiple times this season. Critics claim that Norris is too cautious in his approach, which makes it easy for others to overtake him during the start.
Juan Pablo Montoya has therefore advised the 24-year-old to be aggressive in his efforts during the span of a race. The upcoming Grand Prix in Baku will show whether or not Norris changes his approach to claim greater wins going forward.
