McLaren has been ousted by Mercedes and Red Bull on quite a few occasions this year. Team Principal Andrea Stella therefore confirmed bigger upgrades for the MCL38 from Zandvoort onwards.

We seem to be now in condition to cash in some of these developments that we have accrued in the ground. I would expect that for the second part of the season we will have, at multiple times, some new parts. So it means that obviously the Miami upgrade was big, but there’s some upgrades that will come in the second part of the season, yes.

Andrea Stella asserted that his team worked well and brought fewer upgrades amongst the top teams in the first half. He then said that multiple parts will be installed on the MCL38 after the summer break.

The Woking-based-team has amassed the least wins out of Ferrari, Red Bull, and Mercedes this season. They will now have to desperately amass a few victories to up their tally and to have a potent shot at the world championship this campaign.
