Lando Norris is off to a rocky start in the 2025 season after being toppled from the lead of the drivers’ title by his teammate, Oscar Piastri. The Briton made some crucial mistakes that quickly caught up to him and caused him to lose points. Now, the battle seems even between Piastri, Max Verstappen, and himself as he declares an uninterested statement over his championship prospects.
Lando Norris remains confident in himself and refuses to falter despite facing multiple disappointing situations at the beginning of the 2025 season. Norris started the season with great hopes of finishing his unfinished business of a championship victory in the previous year. Now, as the Briton seems to lose his dominance, he backs down on his claims of caring about the championship.
Norris confidently asserted that he doesn’t care about the world championship at this point. He reckons that the drivers’ title wouldn’t cross his mind at least until the summer break. In addition to this, the 25-year-old applauded the good job carried out by his teammate, Oscar Piastri. The Briton, who is known to be too critical of his mistakes, acknowledged that he hadn’t gotten the most out of himself this year yet.
The World Championship? I don’t care now, I probably won’t think about it until the summer. Oscar did a good job, but at the same time I don’t feel like I got the most out of myself. Even if I ran alone, I wouldn’t still be happy.

Oscar Piastri had declared that he would race Lando Norris hard this year to fight for the drivers’ title. While Norris seems to be losing out against his teammate, he is still glad that the inter-McLaren battle is helping maximize results for the team. The Briton labeled the competition as ‘nice’ as they did not clash heads too aggressively on the track. The 25-year-old reckons that both of them equally want to beat each other which makes the good teammates and even better drivers on the track.
If you have a good teammate, you will always do a better job as a driver. It’s nice, we push each other in every free practice session, in every qualifying, in every race. There is a nice competition between us. We both recognize that we want to beat each other, and I think that’s what makes us good teammates.

Lando Norris claims Red Bull is ‘talking a lot’ in 2025
McLaren has clearly remained the team to beat in the wake of their superior challenge as compared to the rest of the teams. Still, Mercedes and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen have provided a stern competition to the Papaya squad since the beginning of the season. While the rivals question Woking’s tactics to remain at the top of their game, Lando Norris issues a harsh statement against them.

Norris asserted that Red Bull and Mercedes remained in the vicinity of McLaren since the beginning of the year. On the contrary, they have also surpassed Woking multiple times during the qualifying sessions. Still, the Briton believes that the Orange squad is doing a better job than their rivals. However, the 25-year-old brutally claimed that the rivals bring in updates and talk a lot, but McLaren continues to dominate the playing field when it comes to the main race on Sunday.
We have seen from the beginning of the season that Red Bull and Mercedes are not far away, and both have surpassed us in qualifying several times. They are doing a good job, but I think it is clear that we are doing a better job. They have updates and talk a lot, but at the end of the day we just have to do a good job on Sunday.
Lando Norris noted
The 2025 season has peaked in excitement and competition at the forefront as the top four drivers remain close to one another in the standings. None of the drivers in the top spot can commit any mistakes, as it could lead to harsher outcomes towards the end. Hence, Norris will now aim to find the littlest of improvements possible against his Aussie counterpart, Oscar Piastri, as the battle for the title lead cooks up further.
