Lando Norris was unable to bring home the race win against Max Verstappen‘s dominance at the Las Vegas GP. Despite starting the race from pole position, Norris made crucial errors heading into Turn 1 that not only cost him the position but ultimately the race win. Now, the 26-year-old recalled the moment that cost him the victory against Verstappen.

Since the beginning of the race weekend, Lando Norris was wary of his winning chances. He was sure that he wouldn’t be able to win the Las Vegas GP. However, a pole position meant that his previous comments were nullified, and he could continue his winning streak. Max Verstappen was in close second, and he did not think twice when Norris made the mistake in P1.

After losing the Las Vegas GP, Lando Norris joked that he let Max Verstappen have a win. He continued that he intentionally let the 28-year-old go and have a nice race. Though he then clarified that he simply braked too late heading into Turn 1 at race start. Norris accepted that it was his ‘f**k up’ and he tried to play it off by claiming that he was trying to put on a show in the glamorous Las Vegas.

I let Max have a win. Let him go, let him have a nice race. Nah, I just braked too late. It was my f-up… I wanted to put on a show, right? That’s why we’re in Vegas, I guess.

Lando Norris said, as reported by RacingNews365.

Lando Norris accepted that he did not put up his best performance at the Las Vegas GP. However, he reckoned that if Max Verstappen won by over 20 seconds to the trailing driver, it was because he simply did a better job than everyone. According to Norris, Verstappen was quicker than the rest of the grid and hence could win the race easily. Ultimately, the Briton noted that the race was fun for him despite the usual difficulties on track.

No, it wasn’t my best performance out there. But when a guy wins by 20 seconds, it’s because he’s just done a better job and they were quicker. So fun race out there, difficult as always, but good fun.

Lando Norris risks “Max Verstappen-like” penalty for dropping the F-bomb in the media

Max Verstappen was brutally hit with a community service penalty last year for dropping an F-bomb in the media pen. This time around, it’s Lando Norris who made the massive mistake of not watching his words in front of the media. FIA had made some rules against using colorful language for criticizing the government body, but they did not include clear regulations against dropping F-bombs in front of the media.

Lando Norris used some colorful words while talking about his mistake on the track. Even Charles Leclerc was fined because of the use of the F-word while racing in the car. Now, Norris will surely be investigated by the stewards, keeping in mind the tight regulations around the matter. Notably, the Briton wouldn’t receive a sporting penalty like a grip drop for the next race, but he might have to serve community service just like Max Verstappen did last year.

Apart from this, in a shocking turn of events, both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri fear a disqualification from the Las Vegas GP due to an illegal amount of plank wear. At this point in the championship, a DSQ would surely cause massive damage to the Briton’s championship ambitions. As such, it will be extremely interesting to witness how the season pans out, especially if they are hit with a brutal disqualification.
