Lando Norris achieved a stellar win at the Brazilian GP Sprint race and extended his lead in the driver’s title further. The Briton started the race from pole position and led the entirety of the sprint race to ultimately bring home the win. Moreover, Oscar Piastri suffered from a woeful DNF in the race, as Norris’ lead extended even more. Now, despite his sublime victory, the Briton is managing expectations for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Lando Norris is now leading the driver’s title standings by nine points over Oscar Piastri. The Briton left no stone unturned on the track and achieved the race win after running in first all throughout the damp Brazilian circuit. However, despite a dominant outing, Norris isn’t completely happy with the results. The 25-year-old expected even more of himself on Saturday and hence talked about unfinished business for the 2025 season.
Speaking on his Sprint win, Lando Norris asserted that it was tough, despite the win seemingly coming easily. The 25-year-old insisted that the difficulty was just added to the specialty of the race win. Norris applauded the rookie Kimi Antonelli for not making his life easier on the track and providing him a great competition.
Further, Lando Norris recalled that he had a couple of near misses on the track where he could’ve ruined his entire race. The Briton pointed out that the winds were tricky around the Brazilian circuit, and the uneven tire degradation added to the problems. Hence, Norris reflected that he expected to be even better than his race win performance in the Sprint race, and noted that he had some homework to do in order to improve even further.
It was tough. Yeah, it was tough. It makes the win more rewarding, especially with Kimi here not making my life easier. It was sketchy, I had a couple of near misses – the wind was tricky and the degradation on the tyres… I expected us to be a little better, so we have some homework to do.
Lando Norris said in a post-race interview.

Lando Norris claims the Brazil weekend ‘always a difficult one’
The Brazilian race weekend is certainly not for the faint of heart. The race usually has rain and storm warnings, with many of the past races facing torrential conditions. Even the 2025 season was no different, as this year it was expected to rain heavily as well. However, the sprint race was run under normal conditions, and Lando Norris was able to breeze past the chequered flag. Still, Norris accepts that the Brazilian race is never an easy one.

Lando Norris reiterated that because of the uneven tire degradation on the damp circuit, it was definitely not an easy race. He wasn’t able to put forth his utter dominance on the track because of the track conditions. Still, Norris insisted that such conditions were expected during race weekend in Brazil. Ultimately, he accepted that outings on the Brazilian circuits are always difficult ones as he now prepares for the upcoming Qualifying session.
With the degradation on the tyres, it was difficult so definitely not an easy race but probably the race you expect here in Brazil. It’s always a difficult one.

Norris currently has a comfortable enough lead over Oscar Piastri while heading into the main race sessions. The Briton just has to finish ahead of Piastri to further fortify his lead in the standings. Max Verstappen is now 40 points adrift of the lead and would have to work extremely hard if he still wants to remain in contention. For now, the 25-year-old can relax a little before the Qualifying and the race sessions up ahead.
