Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have had an intense rivalry for the world title this season. With the Mexican GP being no exception. The reigning world champion pushed the McLaren driver off-track as they battled it out for third place. Now, Norris has insisted that Verstappen crossed the line this weekend.

The Red Bull driver received two 10-second penalties which forced him down to P6 in the race. Lando Norris pointed out that Max Verstappen went a bit too far with his move this weekend. He further mentioned that stewards shared his views on the incident.

Things like today are just a bit too far in my opinion, and obviously in the stewards’ opinion too.

Moreover, Norris reckoned that most people do not like to go racing the way Verstappen pushed him off at the Mexican GP. The McLaren star insisted that he respected the three-time world champion. However, Lando Norris was convinced that he would’ve crashed out of the race if he did not avoid the Red Bull and went off-track.

I would say probably the majority of peoples opinions, and that’s just not how I think many people like to go racing. I respect Max a lot, I want to race hard against him, but if I didn’t do what I did today and avoid him I’d probably be out of the race you know.

It’s tough, but I played my cards well, I knew what to expect in many ways, and yeah, points for me are good at the minute and we’ll just keep our heads down.

Lando Norris stated

Certainly, the McLaren star has got a morale boost after the Mexican GP. Lando Norris needs to keep outperforming Verstappen to win his maiden F1 world title. However, Max Verstappen will not be giving up on his championship hopes anytime soon. As such, fans can expect things to go down to the wire this season.
